Digital Learning is no longer something new. It is a fact of life. The world that we live and work in is highly digital and requires students to have a range of digital skills. This compliments our strong focus on literacy and numeracy as fundamental skills. Our school is well resourced with current ICT infrastructure and equipment- including interactive whiteboards, Apple TV, and IPads.
A key aspect of our Digital Learning Strategy is our one-one Ipad Program that is in place from Prep to six.
At Warrnambool West Primary School students develop ICT capability as they learn to use ICT effectively and appropriately to access, create and communicate information and ideas, solve problems and work collaboratively in all learning areas at school, and in their lives beyond school. The capability involves students in learning to make the most of the digital technologies available to them, adapting to new ways of doing things as technologies evolve and limiting the risks to themselves and others in a digital environment”. (Australian Curriculum)
At Warrnambool West Primary School we have ensured that each classroom has ready access to Apple T.V’s and/or new electronic whiteboards. We offer a 1 to 1 electronic device program – all students have access to netbooks and iPads, updated with relevant software and Apps.
At Warrnambool West Primary School we do not believe in using ICT simply for the ‘sake of it’-it has to have a purpose and an educational value. We utilise up to date and relevant Apps. to improve and support student learning and welfare and engagement. Students are always eager to try new ideas and develop and extend their understandings of traditional learnings in all areas of digital media.
Our school is eSmart accredited which ensures our students learn how to use technology in a safe and effective way by following the guidelines of the eSmart program. For more information about the eSmart program please visit
